Given the fast evolving/moving topic of modernization I'd be curious to know whether IBM would ever be interested in doing the writing of Redbooks in a more collaborative and modern fashion - specifically using something like markdown** that is hosted on github (for fork and pull request capabilities***) so the evolutions can be recorded and also happen more quickly and incrementally. The formal acceptance of content could still be locked down to a select few, but the community could fork the public github repo and subsequently submit pull requests which is basically asking the primary github repo owner to review their changes and potentially accept them into the primary repo.

If an approach like this isn't taken then the info in this Redbook will be out of date within months (weeks?).


If IBM were to allow the Redbook content to be published in a public github account (copyright issues), I'd be willing to apply some time to this concept and put the infrastructure in place.
